Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – Lord Mahadeva raptured in extreme joy after witnessing the beauty of Rama – Devi Sati’s misperception

Chapter – 49– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Lord Mahadeva raptured in extreme joy after witnessing the beauty of Rama – Devi Sati’s misperception

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “The legend of Lord of Raghu is exceptionally mysterious, only the wise and learned could comprehend them. The dull-minded, ignorant and unfortunate Jeeva cannot take pleasure in it. Lord Mahadeva along with Devi Sati while returning from the hermitage of Sage Kumbhaja, got a glimpse of Lord Sri Ramachandra wandering in the dense wood, Shambhu could not control his tears of joy, heart brimming with bliss, his eyes enthusiastically took great pleasure in the feast like attractive blue limbs of Rama who is an ocean of beauty. Lord Mahadeva did not intend to cause any obstacles to the purpose of the incarnation of Prabhu Lord Sri Ram, hence remembering the glorious form of Rama whispered ‘Hail supreme consciousness, bliss & eternal truth, Victory to the Lord who is the savior of the Earth’ and kept moving along with Devi Sati. All the way, Devi Sati could sense the unknown enthusiasm and joy in Shambhu, began to think “The mighty Lord Mahadeva is the Lord of Universe, worshiped by the whole Universe, demons, deities, Rishis and Sages and humans.  After all these, why did he offer obeisance to the son of King Dhasharatha, the crown prince of Ayodhya? Why did he refer Rama as supreme consciousness, eternal bliss, and absolute truth? Why did he feel so raptured at the beauty of the prince of Ayodhya? Why did he shed uncontrollable tears of joy?”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Bala Kanda – Lord Shambhu meets Lord Rama in the dense wood – Rama lamenting over the capture of Devi Sita by the demon king Ravana

Chapter – 48– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – Lord Shambhu meets Lord Rama in the dense wood – Rama lamenting over the capture of Devi Sita by the demon king Ravana

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Lord Mahadeva all the way while walking through the hills, thinking of Lord Hari, and how to get a glimpse of the supreme Lord Hari who has personified as Prabhu Lord Sri Ramachandra, and that too without creating impediments to his purpose of incarnation. The mere thought of Lord Hari kindled great excitement in the heart of Hara, was instantly realized by Devi Sati who was walking close by him. The secret desire to achieve the sight of Prabhu Lord Sri Ram was well visible on the sparkling eyes of Lord Hara. The demon king Ravana of Lanka achieved a peculiar boon from Bhrama, after severe penances, that he cannot be killed by the deities or demons, leaving the humans as the weakest sections of the creation. The supreme Lord Hari has personified in the illustrious clan of Raghu to put an end to the harassment of Ravana and his clan.  Lord Hara was confused, if he did not step forward to meet Lord Rama, that would be a great loss. If he meets Lord Rama who is grieving over the loss of his consort in the wood, that would destroy the entire purpose of incarnation. Lord Rama was grieving over the separation from his consort Devi Sita who was abducted by the mighty King Ravana, with the help of his uncle Mareecha who was disguised as a golden deer. Devi Sita who was seated in the hermitage with Rama and Lakshman revealed her desire to own the golden deer was chased by Rama. Mareecha was shot by the arrow of Rama called out loudly for Lakshman, it was mistaken by Devi Sita urged Lakshman to follow his elder brother. Thus, Devi Sita left alone in the hermitage was approached by demon King Ravana disguised as an ascetic and abducted Devi Sita. When the two brothers returned after the chase, found Devi Sita was missing in the hermitage. Rama could not control his grief, lamented over the loss of his consort, conducted search all over the wood with his brother Lakshman, wept bitterly like an ordinary human.”

Chapter – 47– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – The incarnation of Lord Hari as Rama – Rama’s search for Devi Sita in the dense wood

Sage Yajjavalkya speaks “Oh! Mune, I shall describe the marvelous conversation that took place between Lord Shambhu and Goddess Bhavani, listen to me carefully. It would remove your perplexities and anxiousness as well. It was in the Thretha Yuga, once Lord Shambhu was invited to visit the hermitage of Khatasambhava/Sage Agasthya, was accompanied by Paramba, Bhagavathi Jagathjanani Devi Sati. Sage Agasthya received the Lord of Lord Mahadeva and consort, the divine couple with great honor, and they engaged in the conversation on scriptures, Veda and Shastra. Sage Agasthya described the glorious legend of Lord Sri Ramachandra to Lord Mahesha, listened with immense delight. They conversed about the devotion to supreme Lord Hari and Shambhu who is a staunch devotee of Lord Hari described them all. In this way, the Sage Agasthya and Lord Shambhu spend several days in the discussion of various topics, and the legend of Lord Sri Ramachandra. Finally, the time has arrived, Lord Shambhu requested permission to leave to Mount Kailash with Dhakshakanya Devi Sati was permitted. During this period, Lord Sri Hari was personified as Rama in the illustrious clan of Raghu at the request of deities and Goddess Earth to reduce her burden, and provide welfare and happiness to the Santh, Mahathma noble-souls.  Lord Sri Rama along with Lakshman was wandering on the dense wood of Dandakavana in a saffron robe in order to keep up the promise given to his father, he was in a thorough search for his beloved consort Devi Sita all over the woods.”

Sage Bharadhwaja continues “Oh! Prabhu, you are Sarvajja, you are the knower of All and have prominent knowledge in Veda, Shastra, and Purana, kindly enlighten me, is that Rama whose name and remembrance would remove the Thrividha Thapa of Samsara? Is that very Rama who is contemplated and meditated upon by Thripurari? Oh! Prabho, kindly describe the legend of Lord Sri Ramachandra that would remove my false notion and perplexities.” Sage Yajjavalkya smiled affectionately at Sage Bharadhwaja and began to speak “Oh! Mune, you are well known the glories of Lord of Raghu, you are an ardent devotee of Lord Rama by word, deed, and thought, still you want to hear the endless glories and virtues of that supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra from me, and a pretense to be unknown to you. Chapter – 45– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Bala Kanda – The glories of Anandhavana/Kashi and the Tharakamanthra

Sage Bharadhwaja speaks “Oh! The Veda, Shasthra and Puruana equally emphasizes the glories of ‘Sri Ramanama’/Tharakamanthra too. The illustrious Sages and Rishis highly praise the Ramanama as propitious, removes the impurities of the mind, Ahamkara, Mamakara, excessive interest in Shabdha/sound, Sparsha/touch, Rasa/taste, Roopa/appearance, Gandha/smell, that are the prime cause for the permanent grief and agony. I have heard of a Rama, who is the prince of Ayodhya, lost his wife in the dense wood of Dhandakaranya, conducted rigorous search all over the forest, lamented over her loss, finally battled against the demon king Ravana, the king of Lanka with the help of monkey warriors, and destroyed the entire clan of demon Ravana.”
