Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Uththara Kanda – Sage Kakabhusundi describes the boon he has received from Lord Rama

Chapter -88 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Sage Kakabhusundi describes the boon he has received from Lord Rama

Lord Rama speaks “Oh! Kakabhusundi, whoever be it Purusha/male, Nari/female, or Napumsaka/mixed gender, or any creatures or animate or inanimate things worship me I would ensure their protection, if they adore me with innocent heart, they are supremely dear to me. Oh! Khaga, the sincerity of the worshiper lures my heart, hence worship me with pure love and devotion, without any desire or personal motive. I shall promise you, the ‘Time’ will not take control over you, worship me with intense devotion and faith.” Sage Kakabhusundi speaks to Guruda “Oh! Khagapathi, after listening to the nectar-like speeches of Rama, I was transported to a state of bliss, my bodily hairs stood upright. The joy I have felt that moment was beyond description, my eyes were beholding the beauty of that Lord, how can they describe the splendor of that Lord? Thus, Lord Rama pacified me in many ways, after that once again sported like an infant Rama on the patio of the grand palace of Ayodhya, after some time the infant Rama’s started to cry looking at his mother Devi Kausalya, eyes were filled with tears as if he was hungry. Soon Devi Kausalya rushed to her child, and carried him on her bosom, and began to feed the child singing the exploits of Lord Rama.”

Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sri Tulsidas Maharaj – Uththara Kanda – Lord Rama describes the nature of the Jeeva who is dear as his life

Chapter -87 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Lord Rama describes the nature of the Jeeva who is dear as his life

Lord Rama spoke “Oh! Kakabhusundi, who does not love a sincere servant, an ardent devotee? Listen to me carefully, I shall describe an interesting note described by the Veda and scriptures.  A father has nine sons and each of them has different qualities, virtues, and nature. One of them became learned, another one became spiritual seeker, another one undertook austerities, Japa, Thapa, etc. the fourth one became wealthiest, the fifth one became warrior, the sixth one became noble and highly generous, the seventh one has deep knowledge in different fields, and the eighth one is pious, but father loves all his sons dearly. The ninth son was too devoted to his father by word, mind, and deed; hence his father was too attached to him, obviously loved that son dearly as his life. Oh! Kakabhusundi, in this way, all the animate and inanimate things in the Universe are created by me with the influence of my inseparable Maya, hence all are dear to me, I am equally fond of them. Although, whoever devoted to me by word, mind, and deed, leaving interest in worldly matters, richness, fame, money, wealth, possession, children, wife, relatives, and companion, and free from the impurities of Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Madha, Mathshcharya, Ahamkara, and Mamakara,  are dearer as my life.”

Chapter -86 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Lord Sri Ramachandra describes the nature of his creation

The compassionate Lord Rama spoke “Oh! Kakabhusundi, now onwards you will be free my formidable Maya, it will not cloud your mind anymore, henceforth you will be equivalent to Bhramam, which is pure, unblemished, changeless, free from afflictions, has neither birth nor death. Oh! Kakabhusundi, my devotees are always dear to me, knowing that continue to practice devotion by words, mind, and deeds, strictly adhere to the principles and teachings of Veda and scriptures that eulogize the worship of me with words, mind, and deed. The Universe and its living and non-living things have been created with the Maya of mine, it is not real, it's mere illusion, and has fleeting nature. I love all the animate and inanimate things in this Universe I have created with the influence of Maya, and humans are the dearest among them, 1) the Bhramanas who are well versed in Veda and scriptures, strictly follow the principles of Veda, are the most beloved of mine, 2)  and another favorite of mine is Jeeva who is dispassionate, abandoned the interest in worldly matters and material things such as fame, money, richness, wealth, children, wife, relatives and companion, etc. has the knowledge of ‘Oneness-in-all’ 3) and most favorite of mine is the Jeeva who is surrendered to me by word, mind, and deed. Oh! Kakabhusundi, there is no one dear as my devotees, even if it is Lord Bhrama or any teeny tiny creature worships me I would assure protection to them in all their lives, my devotees are beloved of mine.”

Chapter -85 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Sage Kakabhusundi achieves perpetual devotion as a boon and also knowledge about the exploits of Lord Sri Ramachandra

Sage Kakabhusundi appeals to Lord Rama “Oh! Prabho, kindly offer me Ananyabhakthi/Abiralabhakthi, perpetual devotion at your lotus feet as a boon. Oh! Bhagathakalpatharu, Oh! Yogeesa, the delighter of the souls, Oh! Kripasindhu, Oh! Sukhadhama, Oh! Rama, kindly blesses me with uninterrupted devotion at your lotus feet, which was highly eulogized by the Veda and Shastras, Rishis, and Sages. The Santh Mahathma and the noble souls relentlessly contemplate and meditate upon it, that too achievable with the grace of you.” The Supreme Lord Rama replied “Yevamasthu/ So be it’, The compassionate Lord Rama began to speak “Oh! Kakabhusundi, you are wise and highly fortunate to achieve perpetual devotion as a boon, pure devotion is the source of joy, you have opted for it. The Sages and Rishis undertake austerities, penances, Shamadhadhi for several years, and emaciated their bodies in Japa or Thapa, even after all these they fail to achieve Anananya Bhakti. I am extremely pleased to watch your pure love and devotion, which is dear to my heart. Oh! Kakabhusundi, you would achieve all those virtues, wisdom, devotion, spiritual knowledge, dispassion, Yoga, Japa, and the knowledge of exploits of my various incarnations and its purposes, with my grace, hence you need not undergo self-discipline and austerities anymore.”

Chapter -84 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Sage Kakabhusundi desires for perpetual devotion at the lotus feet of Lord Rama

Sage Kakabhusundi speaks “Oh! Garuda, the compassionate Lord watching me in distress, spoke words like nectar “Oh! Kakabhusundi, I have highly pleased with your devotion, you can ask for a boon, you can ask for anything you wished to achieve, ask for Ashtasidhdhi, or wealth, or Gyana, or Bibeka, or Birakthi,  or Vigyana, or virtues or Moksha which is difficult to achieve even after several thousand years of Tapasya, I am highly pleased with you, hence ask for anything you wish that pleases your mind.” Upon hearing the kind words of Lord Rama, I have immersed in various thoughts “The supreme Lord Sri Rama is absolute Bhramam, otherwise, he won’t offer me boons, but he did not offer the perpetual devotion at his lotus feet as a boon, without devotion at the lotus feet of the Lord, the rest of the boon such as wealth, fame, richness, money, wisdom, virtues, etc. would be worthless, it would be an extravagant meal without salt in it.” Oh! Garuda, I have replied to the Lord “Oh! Prabho, there won’t be no happiness without devotion and adoration at your lotus feet, Oh! Antharyami, you are the knower of all, you are kind and affectionate to your devotees, kindly bless me with the boon close to my heart.”

Chapter -83 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Sage Kakabhusundi got rid of Maya of Mayapathi

Sage Kakabhusundi speaks “Oh! Garuda, the compassionate Lord Rama watching me in distress inside his belly gave out a smile, instantly I flew out of his mouth, soon I have witnessed the infant child Rama immersed in various childhood pastimes with his brothers on the marvelous patio of King Dhasharatha. I have tried to reason myself in all possible ways but nothing could bring peace to me. Oh! Garuda, while I was inside the belly of that infant Lord Rama, I was horrified to watch infinite Bhramanda, animate and animate things, I lost my consciousness, cried pitifully “Oh! Prabho, kindly protect me.” The merciful Lord Rama who can’t bear his devotees in distress, brought me out of his belly, and looked at me gracefully and patted on my head affectionately, soon I have got rid of trepidations and sorrow, thus the supreme Lord Rama relieved me from Maya, my heart raced with pure love for Lord Rama, my bodily hairs stood upright, with the eyes full of tears, and folded hands, I eulogized the supreme Lord Rama in marvelous verses.”

Chapter -82 – Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Uththara Kanda – Sage Kakabhusundi was overwhelmed by the Maya of Mayapathi

Sage Kakabhusundi describes the infinite Bhramanda witnessed in the stomach of infant Rama “Oh! Garuda, each Bhramanda has distinctive nature and marvelous was beyond description. Oh! Garuda, during my visit to the infinite Bhramanda I haven’t seen my beloved infant Rama, it was my illusion I have witnessed the exceedingly beautiful and graceful infant Rama in all those Bhramanda. Oh! Garuda, I have been wandering several Yugas in the infinite Bhramanda, after that, I have returned to my hermitage and spent some time.  During my stay in the hermitage, I have heard the birth of Lord Sri Hari as the son of King of Kosala once again, I have rushed to the city of Ayodhya to witness the birth and the celebration took place with regard to the birth of the infant Rama and his three brothers, which I have already described to you. The infinite Bhramanda I have witnessed in the stomach of infant Rama was beyond description. Once again, I have become the victim of the Maya of Mayapathi, who is gracious and wise, I have witnessed the infinite Bhrmanda in less than an hour, I was completely astounded and lost in the maze.”
