– 54– Sri Ramacharitha Manas – Sundara Kanda– The spies of Ravana disguised as
Vanaras were caught by the warriors of Rama
The
spies appeared as Vanaras and observed the supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra, they
praised the virtue and amiability of the Lord to those who have taken shelter
in him. The spies began to praise openly the virtues and compassion of the Lord,
forgetting themselves as the emissaries of Ravana. Soon, the Vanaras of the
Lord located the spies of Ravana and fastened them, produced before Sugrivah
who ordered to disfigure them and send them back to Ravana. Soon, the Vanaras
chased the demons disguised as Vanaras all over the wood, the demons shrieked
and cried for help were ignored, Vanaras were determined to punish the demons,
but Lakshman intervened and laughed at them, he released the demons from the
capture and advised “Oh! Demons, deliver my message to your King Ravana, let
him read it, remind him the destroyer of the demon clan Lakshman waiting for
his response.”
